Email : ymro@ee.kaist.ac.kr Tel : +82-42-350-6129 　 　 Yong Man Ro received the B.S. from Department of Electronics Eng. in Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Department of Electrical Engineering in the KAIST. 　 In 1987, he was a staff associate at Columbia University, and from 1992 to 1995, he was a visiting researcher in University of California at Irvine and KAIST, respectively. In 1996, he was a research fellow at Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences in University of California at berkeley. Till 1996 he was a associate professor in Department of computer engineering in Daejon University. From 1997 and 2008, he was professor in Information and Communication University (ICU). In 2007, he was a visiting professor with The Edward S. Rogers Sr. Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto. He is currently full professor of Department of Electrical Engineering in KAIST. He is also director of IVY (Image/Video sYstem) Lab. 　 He contributed several MPEG-7 and MPEG-21 standardization works including MPEG-7 texture descriptor and MPEG-21 DIA visual impairment descriptors and modality conversion. His research interests include image/video processing, visual data mining, image/video indexing, and multimedia security, medical imaging, pattern recognition, and functional imaging. 　 Dr. Yong Man Ro is a Senior member of IEEE as well as member of ISMRM and SPIE. He received the Young Investigator Finalist Award of ISMRM in 1992 and the year’s scientist Award (Korea) in 2003. He is the Associate Editor in LNCS transitions on Data Hiding and Multimedia Security (Springer-Verlag). He served TPC in many international conferences including the program chair of IWDW 2004.
